1 FORM · 8 FIELDS · 9 SUBURBS
The useful first message is rarely a long one. A few photographs of the room as it stands, a rough wall-to-wall dimension and a sentence about what stops working in there is enough to begin a sensible conversation about scope.
13 SERVICES
Most conversations start in one of three places: a whole room being rebuilt, a layout that needs resolving on paper first, or joinery being made to fit an awkward space.
WHERE
BEFORE YOU WRITE
None of it has to be exact. Approximate figures are enough to tell whether a room needs a full rebuild or a narrower scope of work.
04 STEPS · BEFORE ANY DRAWING
These are the first four of the thirteen stages a kitchen runs through. Nothing is demolished, ordered or priced until the third and fourth are settled.
900 BENCH · 2340 TALL RUN · 1 SITE VISIT
Older Oakleigh houses are rarely square, and unit kitchens rarely have the clearances their plans claim. A measure records the room as it is: two diagonals across the floor, heights taken at both ends of every run, the position of waste, gas and power, and the awkward bulkhead nobody mentions until the cabinetry arrives.
Those figures are what a design is drawn against and what a benchtop is later templated from. Everything downstream — module widths, drawer sizes, island overhang, splashback height — is decided by that one set of numbers, which is why it happens before pricing rather than after it.
8 FIELDS · 1 MESSAGE
The form asks for your name, email and phone, the suburb the kitchen is in, a subject line, a budget range and a timeframe, then leaves the message open. The last three are the ones worth spending a minute on — budget and timeframe decide scope more than taste does.
Photographs cannot be attached here. Describe the room in the message instead — its shape, roughly how long each run of bench is, and what you would change first — and images can follow once we are talking.
